RedHawks remain unbeaten with win over UConn MRO STAFF CLEMSON, SC -- Holy Blaska and Chloe Parks stroked two hits each to help send Miami past UConn 6-3 in softball action Friday at McWhorter Stadium. Starter Madilyn Reeves (2-0) scattered five hits and allowed three runs to pick up the win as Miami raised its 2024 record to 8-0. Addy Jarvis got the save, throwing two hitless innings to finish the contest. Payton Kinny (0-2) took the loss as UConn fell to 4-9 on the campaign Miami took an early lead when Karlie Spaid drove a solo shot to left center in the first inning. Taylor Zatyk's single plated the Huskies first run in the bottom half to make it a 3-1 game. Both teams added on in the fifth. Miami's single run came on a Jenna Golembewski homer to left. However, Jana Sanders belted a two-run shot for UConn to pull the Huskies one at 4-3. RBI singles by Parks and Hadley Parisien in the sixth inning expanded the RedHawks lead to three, and Jarvis came on to hold the Huskies scoreless over the final two frames.
