Miami RedHawks run-rule Seattle Redhawks TULSA, OK -- Holly Blaska stroked two hits and three other MU players hit home runs to power Miami (11-3) past Seattle 10-2 in a five-inning battle of RedHawks vs Redhawks Saturday at the Collins Family Softball Complex on the campus of Tulsa University. Ashley Hitchcock (4-1) picked up the win, allowing three hits and two runs in three innings. Freshman Madilyn Reeves struck out three and allowed two hits in two scoreless innings. Stephanie Madrigal (3-5) took the loss. Miami broke in front early, capitalizing on two Seattle errors for two first inning runs. MU then added four more runs in the third. Doubles by Blaska and . . . . . . Chloe Parks drove in the first two. Freshman Hadley Parisien later doubled two more.
Seattle broke through in the bottom of the inning. Catcher Karen Spadafora opened the frame with a solo homer. Ava Sin doubled in the Redhawks second run. Holding a 6-2 edge, Miami set up a run-rule finish with four more runs in fifth.Kate Kobayashi started the rally with a leadoff homer to right. Seattle recorded two outs before Cummins drew a walk. Jenna Golembiewski picked up two RBIs with a home run to left and Karli Spaid followed with a solo shot. It was Spaid's 77th career home run as a Miami RedHawk. She broke the Mid-American Conference career homer record one day earlier with a first shot to right center against No. 1 Oklahoma, which was opening its new home park - Love Field. Seattle put two runners on with singles in the bottom of the inning, but Reeves stranded the runners to seal the win. Comments are closed.
