Picture
OXFORD, OH -- After surrendering a pair of runs  in the top of the seventh, Miami rallied for two runs in the bottom half to edge Louisville 8-7 Tuesday at the Miami softball complex

Kate Kobayashi homered and freshman Hadley Parisien doubled in the winning tally, allowing Miami to raise its season record to 19-6. Louisvile dropped to 19-10. Addy Jarvis (9-1) got the victory in relieve of starter Madilyn Reeves.  Alyssa Zabala (12-4) took the loss for UL.

Miami totaled nine hits, including .  .  .

. . . three home runs. Reagan Bartholomew and Parisien (2 apiece) were the only RedHawks with multiple hits. Riley Frizell (2) and Ally Alexander (2) led an eight-hit Cardinals attack.

Frizell put the visitors in front with a two-run circuit shot to center in the first inning. However, Miami stormed back with four runs in its half. Karli Spaid belted a two-run homer and Sami Bewick singled in two runs.

Frizell doubled in a Louisville run in the fifth and a Grant single -- with the help of a Miami error -- produced two runs to put Louisiville up 5-4. Jarvis relieved Reeves and got the final out.

Bartholomew's sixth inning homer to left tied the game again, and MU added another run thanks to a Louisville error.

The Cardinals moved in front one final time when Richardson clubbed a two-run homer in the top of the seventh. However, Miami came back with two of its own to claim the victory.
