Golembiewski slams as Miami cruises by Bulls ![]() MRO STAFF BUFFALO, NY -- Jenna Golembiewski blasted a grand slam and drive in a career-high six runs during a 10-1 Miami win over Buffalo Friday at Nan Harvey Field. Madilyn Reeves (9-2) picked up the win for MU, which extended its current winning streak to 11 games and raised its record to 24-6 (7-0 MAC). Buffalo fell to11-16 (3-3 MAC), with Alexis Lucyshyn (7-7) taking the loss. The RedHawks scored all 10 runs over the first three innings. Their 12-hit day included three home runs and three doubles. Golembiewski (2/4), Karli Spaid (2/2)Kate Kobayashi (2/3), Sami Bewick (2/3) and Reagan Bartholomew (2/3) had multiple hit performances. Three batters into the . . . . . . game, Miami was up 2-0 as Allie Cummins led off with a home run to left and Spaid hit her own solo shot to right.
One out into the second, Bewick doubled, scoring one batter later on an error and throw. There were two on when Goembiewski doubled to left, scoring a pair. She then came home on a Spaid single, putting the RedHawks up 6-0. Miami completed its scoring with four more in the third. Two singles and a walk loaded the basis before Golembiewski unloaded her grand slam shot to center field. Buffalo, which had just two hits on the day, recorded its only run in the bottom of the inning when Lily Lauck led off with a homer. Neither team scored after that. Ashley Hitchcock finished for Miami, pitching a hitless/scorless fifth inning. Miami and Buffalo meet again Saturday, with the double header games slated to start at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. (ET) Comments are closed.
