RedHawks roll to DH wins over Bowling Green Reeves throws no-hitter in Game One MRO OXFORD, OH -- Miami's offense totaled 19 runs, while the pitching shut out Bowling Green twice as the RedHawks battered Bowling Green twice Tuesday at the Miami Softball Stadium. Madilyn Reeves (11-2) tossed her first career no-hitter in the first game, which MU won 10-0 in six innings. Ashley Hitchcock (8-3) nearly duplicated the feat, allowing just one hit in a five-inning 9-0 Miami rout in the second game. The victories pushed MU's current winning . . . . . . streak to 15 games and raised the RedHawks record to 28-6 (11-0 MAC). Bowling Green fell to 4-20 (1-7 MAC). GAME ONE: -- The RedHawks took an early lead, but totaled just three runs over the first four innings. The first one came without benefit of a hit and MU stranded three runners. Jenna Golembiewski, who was hit by a pitch, eventually scored after a Falcon error and two walks. -- MU added another score when Reagan Bartholomew led the second with a home run to right center. -- Bartholomew reached on a BG error to open the fourth inning and eventually scored on a Golembiewski sacrifice fly to center. -- Kate Kobayashi's one-out solo homer to right made it a 4-0 game. Sami Bewick then followed with a double. Kari Krueger, running for Bewick, scored on Hadley Parisien's ground out three batters later. -- Miami put the game away with five runs in the sixth inning. Golembiewski and Karli Spaid began the inning with back-to-back homers. After two outs, the RedHawks stroked two singles. Bartholomew's home run to right ended a run-rule victory. NOTES: -- Reeves allowed three walks while throwing a no-hitter. -- Four RedHawks hit homers, including two by Bartholomew. -- MU scored 10 runs on nine hits, while working BG pitching for five walks and to HBP. The Falcons committed two errors, while Miami played errorless ball. GAME TWO: -- After a scoreless first, MU got on the board with a Bartholomew second inning homer to left. -- Golembiewski's one-out homer made it a 2-0 game. Four batters later, Bewick doubled in Holly Blaska and Spaid. Bewick subsequently came around to score on a Bartholomew double, giving Miami a 5-0 lead. -- Kobayashi's fourth inning homer to right center scored Spaid. -- Goembiewski worked a one-out walk. Two batters later, Blaska blasted a walk-off homer to left as MU owned a 9-0 advantage. NOTES: -- Blaska's walk-off homer marked Miami's 100th home run of the season. -- Reagan had three home runs on the day. Golembiewski and Bartholomew also had multiple homer days. Golembiewski (24) lead the nation in homers this season. Spaid (23) is one circuit shot behind her. -- Spaid (90) is the nation's active career home run leader. -- Hitchcock struck out one and issued three walks while throwing her five inning one-hitter.
