RedHawks drop DH to Ole Miss, No. 9 Clemson CLEMSON, SC -- Miami (8-2) softball's unblemished record came to an end Saturday with two losses in the Clemson Classic. The RedHawks led Ole Miss (11-2) 7-2 after four innings in Game One. However, the Rebels exploded for six runs in the fifth and and went on to post a 10-8 victory. -- Allie Cumins put the RedHawks in front with a leadoff, first inning homer. Cummins and Reagan Bartholomew had two hits each, accounting for half of MU's eight hits. -- Ole Miss tied the game with a run in the top of the second, but Miami stormed back with four runs in the second. Three came around on Jenna Golembiewski's homer. Bartholomew's two-run third inning homer gave MU a 7-1 advantage. -- The Rebels hit two home runs in a six-run fifth and tacked on another pair with Delaney Rummel's two-run shot in the top of the seventh. -- Miami got a final run on Karli Spaid's solo shot in the bottom half. -- Addy Jarvis allowed nine hits and six runs (5 earned) in four innings. Madilyn Reeve (2-1) took the loss, surrendering eight hits and four runs in three frames. GAME TWO: Clemson 10, Miami 1 -- The Tigers out-hit MU 10-7. Seven of the 10 Clemson runs game on two homers. Both were by Valerie Cagle, who had eight RBI's on the day. -- Ashley Hitchcock (2-1) took the loss, giving up 10 runs (7 earned) on 10 hits with five walks. -- Allie Cummins went 2 for 2 and had MU's only walk. -- The RedHawks only run came in Jenna Golembiewski's sacrifice fly in the fifth.
