Miami seeks win to close out road schedule MRO STAFF After picking up one of the best road wins of the season Tuesday against Bowling Green, the Miami RedHawks aim to make it two straight on the road Saturday (1 p.m. ET) when they visit Eastern Michigan in Ypsilanti. Miami already has one win against the Eagles this season, knocking off EMU 71-54 back on January 13 in Oxford. That was part of a five-game losing streak. In fact, from Jan. 9 through February 10, Eastern Michigan won just one game. That was against last place Buffalo. Suffice it to say the Eagles . . . . . . chances of reaching the eight-team MAC tournament field are slim. However, the Eagles have embraced winning while they can are emerged victorious in three of their last four games. Ironically, the only loss in that stretch was at Buffalo. However, EMU defeated Bowling Green, Ball State and Western Michigan.
The Miami matchup could be an emotional one as Eastern Michigan plays its final home game. It finished with road trips to Akron and Central Michigan next week. As for the RedHawks, they finish with two home games. Both, however, will be very challenging as they host Toledo and arch-rival Ohio. The latter has been playing very well, winning eight of its last nine MAC games. MORE NOTES -- Saturday will be the 84th all-time meeting between Miami and Eastern Michigan.
