Rebels edge RedHawks with run in seventh OXFORD, Miss. – Monday afternoon, the Miami University softball team took on the University of Mississippi at their home opener in Oxford south. In a close game, the RedHawks fell to the Rebels 4-3. Click Read More for details . HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Rebels started off in the bottom of the second, bringing in two runs off a single. Miami responded in the top of the third with Bailey Manos hitting a home run, bringing in Kari Krueger and herself to home, making the score 2-2. The RedHawks took the lead in the top of the sixth, with a home run from Katy Olive, making it 3-2. Ole Miss tied it up in the bottom of the sixth, scoring off a groundout. The Rebels took the lead in the bottom of the seventh, ultimately winning 4-3. NOTES: Mia Estrello went 2-for-3 at the plate and hit the only double for the RedHawks. Kari Krueger went 2-for-3 at the plate, had one run and hit the only triple of the game. Bailey Manos and Katy Olive hit the only home runs of the game.
