No. 18 Auburn raised its record to 13-1 with an 11-6 win over MU in the first game. Ole Miss moved to 10-3 on the campaign with a 7-1 victory over Miami later in the day. Auburn drew first blood with a run in the first, but MU leveled the score when Golembiewski scored on a sacrifice groundout by Campbell. The RedHawks exploded for five runs in the third. Oh's two-run homer got the rally running. Miami then plated two more runs thanks to a Tigers error. Ella Carter's RBI single put MU up 6-1. One inning later, Auburn struck back with five runs of its own to even the score. It added two in the fifth and three in the sixth. Auburn out-hit the RedHawks 8-6. Both teams committed four errors. Golembiewski and Shelby Kunkel went 2 for 4 at the place. Madilyn Reeves (1-4) went the distance for MU, allowing eight hits and eight earned runs while striking out eight and walking three. She also hit three batters. SJ Geunn (8-0) picked up the win while tossing five innings. GAME 2 - Ole Miss 7, Miami 1 Both teams stroked six hits, but Miami's only score game on Golembiewski's solo shot to right in the sixth inning. The Rebels plated an unearned run in the first and added another in the third. They expanded their lead with three in the fourth and two in the six inning. Golembiewski went 2 for three with a homer on the day. Mckenna Campbell's double was the only other extra base hit for MU. L'ea Chevrier (2-3) took the loss, allowing two hits and three earned runs. She struck out one, walked four and hit three batters in three innings of work. Freshman Shelbie Krieger worked three innings, surrendering three earned runs. She struck out 1 and walked two. Aliyah Binford (1-0) picked up the win for Ole Miss. She scattered six hits, striking out eight without walking a batter. Comments are closed.
