The RedHawks kicked off scoring in the bottom of the second as Danitza Hernandez hit a double, allowing Evey Dieudonne to run in to score, 1-0. Iowa tied it up in the top of the sixth, scoring an unearned run off a single. The Red and White took the lead in the bottom of the sixth after Leila Mathis hit a single, allowing Dieudonne to score. Hernandez and Mathis would also score on the play after a pair of throwing errors. BOX SCORE NOTES: Presley Hosick pitched a complete game, allowing only four hits and one unearned run. Evey Dieudonne went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate and recorded a double. Danitza Hernandez finished 2-for-2 with a double and one RBI. Leila Mathis went 1-for-2 and drove in two runs. Mia Estrello went 1-for-3, including a double. UP NEXT: The RedHawks play again Friday, Feb. 27, in Columbia, Mo., against Drake University at 1:30 p.m. and the University of Missouri at 6:30 p.m. Comments are closed.
