WEST LAFAYETTE, IN --
RedHawk pitchers allowed just three hits on the day, but Purdue pitching hurled a one-hit shutout as the Boilermakers edged Miami 2-0 Wednesday at Bittinger Stadium.
It was the last regular season non-conference tilt of 2025 for MU, which fell to 26-23 on the year. Purdue moved to 26-17.
Madi Reeves (18-10) took the loss. She went five innings for Miami, striking out three and walking three. Only one of the two Boilermaker runs was earned. MU committed three errors, including one in the decisive third inning. Le'a Chevrier finished with one hitless/scoreless frame, striking out two.
Julia Gossett (8-7) got the . . .

. . . win. She struck out 10 and walked three RedHawks while allowing just one hit in seven innings.
That hit came in the second inning when Ella Carter led off with a single to left field. One out later, Holly Merritt worked a walk. However, Gossett struck out the next two batters -- both on 3-2 strikes.
Purdue scored the game's only runs in the third inning. Khloe Banks opened with a walk and stole second. Monah Polar's RBI single to left brought Banks home.
After stealing third, Polar scored on a RedHawks error. Reeves got the final two outs on a fly out to left and line out to short.
