MU blanks Skyhawks in final MAC play tune-up ![]() By MIKE SMITH OXFORD, OH -- Madilyn Reeves evened her record at 6-6 with a three-hit, 5-0 Miami shutout of Stonehill Tuesday at Miami Softball Stadium. It was the last non-conference outing for MU before beginning Mid-American Conference play at Kent State Friday. The RedHawks are now 9-14, with wins in four of their last six games -- all at home. Reeves went 4-1 during that span, She struck out sefven and walked four across four innings Tuesday. Le'a Chevrier three two hitless innings, and Shelbie Krieger followed with a perfect seventh. The RedHawks offense, meanwhile, totaled . . . . . . nine hits. Shelbie Kunkel led the way with three safeties. Ella Carter homered for the second consecutive game. Kaylee Oh tripled, while Kunkel and Chloe Parks doubled. • Erin Pinter, who also walked twice, singled in Parks with Miami's first fun in the second inning.
• Carter led off the fourth with a homer to center. Pinter followed with a walk. After a single and fielder's choice, she came home on catcher's throw to second during a steal attempt. • Miami's fifth inning run came on a bases loaded walk to Pinter, driving in Kunkel. • Freshman Nathalie Hagle singled with one out and later came around to score on a double to right center by Kunkel.
