Hosick has answer as Miami shuts out Bulls BUFFALO, NY -- Senior Presley Hosick quieted Buffalo's offense and the RedHawks scored eight second inning runs in a 9-0 Miami win over UB (17-20, 6-6 MAC) Saturday at Nan Harvey Field. It was the RedHawks second victory over UB in the three-game series, with Presley going the distance in both wins. She allowed just one hit is Saturday's shutout performance. Buffalo took Friday's . . . KATI OLIVE . . . nightcap (8-5) with the help of a seven-run third inning. This time, Miami had the big inning as it batted around while scoring seven runs on seven hits in the second inning. UB also committed two errors along the way. Danitza Hernandez started the RedHawks rally with a leadoff homer to left center. McKenna Campbell singled and Erin Pinter reached on an error. Ella Carter then singled in one run. After a strikeout, Baily Manos brought two RedHawks home with a single. That led to a pitching change, with Malena Toth relieving Olivia Russ. She was greeted with a home run to right center by Katy Olive for a 7-0 MU advantage. It was the senior outfielder's 13th round-tripper of 2026. Mia Estrello singled up the middle, and Hernandez -- batting for the second time in the inning -- pulled a double down the left field line. Two groundouts ended the rally, but Miami owned an 8-0 lead. The RedHawks would add a final run one inning later as Kari Krueger opened with a single, moved up on a wild pitch and came home on Lei Mathis' single to left. Hernandez was the only RedHawk with multiple hits in the five-inning (run rule) win, but nine MU players had at least one hit and many came in the big second inning rally. Hosick, meanwhile, had her best performance since returning from injury. Reagan Terwilliger, who went 5-for-8 in the series, recorded UB's only hit Saturday. Hosick did not strike out a batter, but she walked just one and MU played error-less defense behind her.
