Homers lift Miami over CMU in series finale
Picture
MOUNT PLEASANT, MI -- A pair of long balls produced four runs in 4-3 Miami win over Central Michigan Sunday at Margo Junker Stadium.
Erin Pinter 's first inning shot gave MU an early 3-0 lead, but CMU chipped away and the two teams were tied 3-3 after 5.5 innings.
Miami broke the tie in the bottom of the fifth as Jenna Golembiewski homered to center field. The shot was one of three hits in three at-bats for the senior. Miami totaled six hits on the day.
It was a bounce back win for . . .

. . . Miami, which fell to Central Michigan in Game Two Saturday. That broke a 12-game RedHawk winning streak.
Madi Reeves, who picked up a win in Game One Saturday, also got the win  Sunday. She allowed three runs on seven hits with two walks and struck out seven in 7.0 innings while raising her record to 16-6 on the campaign. Brooklyn Caompau (5-6) took the loss for Central Michigan.

NOTE: Miami was home team because the game was originally scheduled for Oxford. The series was moved due to weather issues in southwest Ohio.

MIAMI 4, CENTRAL MICHIGAN 3
• Chloe Parks opened Miami's first inning with a double to left center.
Two ground outs followed, with Parks moving up to third. After McKenna Campbell drew a six-pitch walk, Pinter followed with a homer to left.
• A walk, error, and passed ball set up CMU's first run in the third inning. Emma Lotus drove in Keira Tolmie with a single and later scored on a base hit by Alyssa Hollo.
• Lotus struck again in the fifth, knotting the game at 3-all with a leadoff homer to right field. It was her first career home run.
• Golembiewski's sixth inning solo homer -- her 17th of the season -- put MU back in front (4-3).
• The Chippewas mounted an immediate threat in the top of the seventh as Tolmie opened with a single. A sacrifice bunt and infield single moved the Ashley Bila - running for Tolmie - to third. A steal of second gave CMU runners at second and third with one out. Reeves, however, struck out Carly Sleeman on a 3-2 pitch and got Williams on a line out to left to end the game.

NOTES:
• The RedHawks are scheduled to host Butler Wednesday (4 p.m.).
They will then hit the road for a series at Ball State. The Cardinals swept Kent State (April 4-5), giving them the MAC's longest active winning streak -- three wins.
• Friday's MU vs BSU tilt starts at 3 p.m. Saturday games are scheduled for 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
