MIAMI NOTES

Basketball schedule update, Phil Steele football notes
Picture
CLEVELAND, Ohio – On Tuesday afternoon, the Mid-American Conference announced that the Miami University men's basketball team will host Old Dominion in the MAC versus Sun Belt Challenge on Monday, Nov. 3. It will be the third time that the two programs have faced off.

The RedHawks posted a 2-0 record in last season's challenge, earning victories over Appalachian State (77-63) and Troy (69-62). Later on in the 2025-26 season, the Red and White will travel to take on a Sun Belt opponent.

It was good to get a least a little news on the basketball schedule front.
Head Coach Travis Steele recently . . .

. . .  noted scheduling difficulties while talking to Paul Fritschner during an exctensive interview for Rebound Rundown. Steele said the line was long of teams anxious to play Miami during his first two (building) seasons with the RedHawks. As the team has improved on the court (and in various power ratings), Steele said many schools are considerably more wary of putting MU on their non-conference slate.

Steele also covers a number of other interesting topics while updating his 2025 roster. Its a very worthwhile video, and you can check it out HERE

It's a toss-up as to whether he enjoys writing or photography best. No matter, though, because the goal is to inform and entertain readers through both.
