Steele extension offer part of major program move TRAVIS STEELE Noted CBS reporter Jon Rothstein today reported on his X (formerly Twitter) account that Miami has offered men's basketball head coach Travis Steele a contract extension through 2033-34. That extension, he noted, would make Steele one of the highest paid coaches in the MAC. Rothstein, who cited a discussion with Miami AD David Saylor, also reported the school is "also set to provide the needed resources to annually be one of the top mid-majors in the sport. A new multi-purpose arena was already in the works, with the Cook Field area projected as a site for a new "Arena District. The arena could possibly be ready for the 2028-29 season.
