RedHawks seek 'reset' win for rematch slate ![]() Miami basketball continues its "rematch" tour Tuesday when it meets Eastern Michigan in Ypsilanti. The final eight MAC games on Miami's schedule are all teams MU faced earlier in the 2024-25 season. Last Saturday's matchup at Western Michigan marked the first "rematch," and it didn't go well. Miami defeated the . . . . . . Broncos by 20 in their Jan. 21 contest. WMU, however, prevailed 78-70 last Saturday. WHAT HAPPENED Two areas proved particularly damaging. • By far the biggest factor was Western Michigan's dominance on the boards. The Broncos out-rebounded Miami 54-26. WMU's 22 offensive rebounds (22) nearly equaled the RedHawks overall total (26). • Peter Suder, a 6-5 junior guard, led MU with seven boards in 35 minutes. Meanwhile, 7-1 center Reece Potter registered one rebound in 21 mniutes. Antwone Woolfolk, the RedHawks other inside force, totaled four caroms in 18 minutes. WMU senior guard Donovan Williams totaled 15 rebounds, while forward Owen Lobsinger grabbed 10 (5 offensive) in 20 minutes off the bench. • Another problem area for Miami was scoring. The RedHawks are averaging 81.4 ppg in conference play but managed just 70 against Western Michigan. Probably the most striking "drop" in production was Kam Craft, who went scoreless after scoring 40 points against Toledo four days earlier. Kraft played just 15 minutes, putting up six shots against the Broncos. Sophomore forward Eian Elmore, battling some foul issues, put up four shots 20 minutes and also went scoreless. Miami's starting five totaled 31 points on the day. Meanwhile, led by Brent Byer's 19 points, the MU bench contributed 39 points. ![]() EASTERN MICHIGAN • Led by Woolfolk, Miami defeated Eastern Michigan 89-80 Jan. 26 in Oxford. The forward registered a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds whil playing 29 minutes despite finishing with four fouls. Miami actually had one less field goal than EMU but cashed in on 28 of 40 free throws. The Eagles went 16 of 21 at the stripe. MU led by nine at the half and built up a 21-point advantage before Eastern Michigan whittled the final margin to nine points. • The Eagles are coming off an 80-73 upset over Toledo. UT scored the first two points, but Eastern Michigan never trailed after that. Senior guard Jalen Terry more than doubled his season average (16.0 ppg) with a 38-point performance. He connected on 15 of 17 from the floor and 6 of 7 treys. Terry has been in double figures in 11 of his last 12 games. Senior forward Da'Sean Nelson. • Miami out-rebounded EMU 37-32 in the first meeting. MIAMI FOOTBALL

A season-ending ACL injury to the right leg in September of 2022 started the spiral. Almost a year later, he sustained a knee injury on the left leg.
