OXFORD, OH --
Freshman forward Kyle Waltz (15 points) led six RedHawks in double figures as Miami blasted Indiana University East 109-65 Tuesday at Millett Hall.
It was the seventh win in as many outings for Miami (7-0), IUE remains 5-3 on the year as it counted Tuesday's game as an exhibition on its schedule.
Miami was up 10-7 when . . .

. . . Luke Skaljac and Waltz hit a pair of treys. A 9-2 run by the hosts gave MU a 28-11 lead midway through the first period.

Peter Suder's steal and layup put the Red and White up by 20 (31-11). A pair of Evan Ipsaro layups just before intermission allowed MU to take a 53-24 advantage to the break.

Miami shot 52.9 percent from the field overall and held IUE to 25.7 percent. Much of the RedHawks damage came inside as they outscored the visitors 28-8 in the paint.

Miami continued to dominate in the second half and widened its lead. A Waltz dunk with 4:45 remaining put the RedHawks in front 101-54 and they cruised to the finish.
NOTES:
•  Joining Waltz in double figures were Ipsaro (14), Trey Perry (13), Almar Atlason (12), Brant Byers (11) and Tyler Robbins (10).
•  Kobe Watson led the Red Wolves with nine points and eight rebounds.
•  While Miami connected on 55 percent (42/76) from the field overall, it made a pedestrian 5 of 33 (24%) from beyond the arc and 65 percent (17 of 26) at the free throw line. In his post-game comments, Head Coach Travis Steele noted heavy substitutions may have contributed to the lower figures as players were shuffled in and out.
• No RedHawk played more than 23 minutes. Miami's five  starters logged 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21 minutes.
