Miami ranked second in preseason coaches poll Preseason honors for Suder (1st Team) and Elmer (2nd Team) CLEVELAND, Ohio – On Tuesday morning the Mid-American conference announced that the Miami University men's basketball team was selected to finish second in the 2025-26 preseason coaches' poll. Akron was named first in the preseason rankings with 143 points and were followed by Miami (133), Kent State (122), Ohio (108), UMass (98), Toledo (95), Bowling Green (73), Ball State (62), Eastern Michigan (52), Western Michigan (46), Buffalo (37), Central Michigan (31) and Northern Illinois (14). Behind fourth-year . . . . . . head coach Travis Steele, the men's team is coming off a season that saw the most wins in program history. Miami returns 10 players from 2024-25, highlighted by Peter Suder, who was picked Preseason All-MAC First Team, and Eian Elmer who was selected Preseason All-MAC Second Team.
