Miami bashes Bears to end homestand Four-road games ahead for undefeated RedHawks OXFORD, OH -- Evan Ipsaro scored 24 points in 24 minutes to lead Miami (8-0) over Maine (0-11) 93-61 Saturday at Millett Hall. It was the eighth win in as many outings for MU, while the Black Bears remained winless at 0-11. Miami was already up 16-4 when it went on an 11-0 run. The rally included Ipsaro's third and fourth treys of the game. He would finish the day connecting on six of eight beyond the arc. Brent Byers found . . . . . . Eian Elmer down the lane for an alley-oop dunk while Miami built a 30-9 advantage. The RedHawks took a 48-30 lead to intermission.
Ipsaro continued to produce in the second half, coming out of the intermission with a pair of layups and a mid-range jumper to push the score to 60-33. A shot from beyond the arc and a traditional three-point play from Elmer, along with a triple from Atlason, gave Miami its first 30-point lead of the day at 71-40 and the hosts cruised in from there. MORE: • Miami begins a four-game road trip at UNC Asheville on Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. • Other RedHawks joining Ipsaro in double figures were Eian Elmer (16), Almar Atlason (10) and and Trey Perry (10). Keelan Steele topped Black Bear scorers with 14 points. • The Red and White shot 34-of-67 (50.7%) from the field. • The RedHawks knocked down 14-of-32 shots (43.8%) from the three-point line. • Miami went 11-of-13 (84.6%) from the free-throw line. • The RedHawks won their 21st consecutive home game. • Miami forced 20 turnovers and scored 30 points off turnovers. • The RedHawks outrebounded Maine 43 to 24. • Miami recorded 22 assists and 17 offensive rebounds.
