Behind fourth-year head coach Travis Steele, the men's team is coming off a season that saw the most wins in program history. Miami returns 10 players from 2024-25, highlighted by Peter Suder, who was picked Preseason All-MAC First Team, and Eian Elmer who was selected Preseason All-MAC Second Team. Dzioban was perfect on Saturday, connecting on all four of his field goal attempts in Miami's 26-17 win over Western Michigan. The sixth-year senior made kicks of 44, 24, 29 and 51 yards. His 51-yarder, which matched his career-best, sealed the Miami victory with under two minutes to play. (MVSmith/MRO) By MIKE SMITH OXFORD, OH -- After getting largely stymied by a tough Western Michigan (4-4, 3-1 MAC) defense for three quarters, the Miami RedHawks (5-3, 4-0 MAC) rallied for 17 in the final stanza to pull out a 26-17 win Saturday at Yager Stadium. The victory moved MU into sole possession of first place. However, the RedHawks must face Ohio, Toledo and Buffalo before finishing against Ball State. Saturday's matchup brought together two teams with 3-0 MAC records. It also featured two of the league's better defenses, and those units showed their strengths through much of Saturday's battle. Akron was named first in the preseason rankings with 143 points and were followed by Miami (133), Kent State (122), Ohio (108), UMass (98), Toledo (95), Bowling Green (73), Ball State (62), Eastern Michigan (52), Western Michigan (46), Buffalo (37), Central Michigan (31) and Northern Illinois (14). (MVSmith/MRO) By MIKE SMITH OXFORD, OH -- Eastern Michigan (2-6, 1-3 MAC) senior Noah Kim threw for a season-high four touchdowns and 309 yards, but Miami QB Dequan Finn produced four TDs of his own as the RedHawks pulled out a 44-30 win Saturday at Yager Stadium. Miami, one of three teams still unbeaten in MAC play, never trailed. However, a costly RedHawks turnover and several big plays by Kim allowed the visitors to trail by just seven points at intermission. Both of Finn's . . . Miami aims to keep MAC wins rolling RedHawks defense will face more potent offense By MIKE SMITH After two weeks on the road, Miami returns to Yager Stadium Saturday when it hosts Eastern Michigan. Kickoff is scheduled for noon and the game will be shown on ESPN+. In last year's meeting, Brett Gabbert threw four touchdowns for Miami in a 38-14 victory over Eastern Michigan at Rynearson Stadium. Miami's defense added a pair of turnovers and held EMU to 18.4 points under its season average. Eli Blakey posted a career-high 18 tackles, while Corban Hondru added 16 stops.
