Basketball names three captains for 2026-27 campaign  OXFORD, Ohio-- Miami men's basketball head coach Travis Steele announced today that senior forward Almar Atlason, senior guard Evan Ipsaro and junior guard Luke Skaljac will be the team's captains for the 2026-27 season.
In his first season with the Red and White, Atlason played in 34 games where he averaged 9.9 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists. He scored a season-high 26 points after knocking down five triples at Ball State. Ipsaro returns . . . Defense, offense trade blows in 'Kickoff' practice By MIKE SMITH  • Miami head coach Chuck Martin seldom has trouble being heard, but he took it to another level Saturday. Microphone in hand, he was able to direct practice activities, call out some penalties and identify players making a number of successful plays during "Kickoff with the Community" practice action.
Both the offense and defense had their moments, with the latter striking first. Amariyun Knighten took advantage of blitz pressure to grab an early interception. With each passing day, Grant Lyons gets closer to another season in RedHawk Red and White. Like college players across the country, he's looking forward to actual games and hitting "real" opponents. As usual, Miami opens on the road -- this time facing the Pittsburgh Panthers Saturday, Sept. 5 (12:39 p.m.). For the fifth-year senior, it's one more campaign AND a chance to do what he loves. Miami announces 2026-27 MAC basketball schedule  OXFORD, Ohio – On Wednesday morning, the Miami University men's basketball team announced its 2026-27 conference schedule. The Red and White will play a 22-game Mid-American Conference (MAC) slate. The RedHawks will host 11 MAC games and hit the road for 11 conference games this upcoming season.

Miami announces return of Antwone Woolfolk  ANTWONE WOOLFOLK OXFORD, Ohio– Miami University men's basketball head coach Travis Steele announced today that forward Antwone Woolfolk will return to the program for the 2026-27 season. Woolfolk, an Honorable Mention All-MAC pick a season ago, will use his fifth season of eligibility this winter. He averaged 9.8 points and 5.3 rebounds in 2025-26 to help the RedHawks to an undefeated regular season, MAC regular-season championship and an NCAA Tournament berth. Woolfolk has made 67 appearances (all starts) for the Red and White over the past two seasons since transferring to Miami from Rutgers.
