Wisconsin prevails in defensive battle • Miami's defense and special teams allowed the RedHawks to stay within three points through intermission. However, the Badgers offense finally broke through for single TDs in each of the final two quarters. • UW out-gained the RedHawks 353-117 overall and had a 23-7 edge in first downs. Miami went 0-for-9 on third down and had the ball for just 20:47, while the Badgers were on offense for 39.13. • Miami netted just 34 yards rushing while averaging 1.5 ypc. • Making his first start for Miami, Dequann Finn completed 9-of-18 passes for 83 yards with two interceptions. The first pick set up Wisconsins final TD. The second ended a late Miami drive that had reached field goal range. Both balls were picked off by Preston Zachman. • Cole Weaver recorded three catches totaling 35 yards to lead RedHawk receivers. • Silas Walters picked off a Badgers pass in the end zone to thwart UW's opening drive of the third quarter. • Walters and Eli Blakey led Miami with eight tackles. Corban Hondru notched seven stops, while Adam Trick recorded six tackles and two sacks. • The RedHawks face another Big Ten foe on the road next week when they meet Rutgers.
