(MVSmith/MRO) While addressing his team's bounce-back win over Eastern Michigan Tuesday night, Miami head coach Travis Steele offered a couple comments about the RedHawks lopsided loss to Akron three days earlier.
Both teams entered the matchup unbeaten in MAC play, but any drama faded quickly as UA blitzed the RedHawks early and led 52-28 at intermission. Akron led by as many as 37 in the second half. For WHAT do the bells toll? Apparently, they could be signaling the end of Millett Hall as the home of Miami basketball and volleyball teams. While the 56-year-old facility has often been a topic of fan discussion in recent years, actual replacement of Millett didn't seem to be on the radar. OXFORD, OH -- Antwone Woolfolk registered a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds as Miami (15-5, 7-1 MAC) defeated Eastern Michigan (10-10, 4-4 MAC) 89-80 Tuesday at Millett Hall. DeKALB, IL -- Northern Illinois held Miami's leading scorer to one basket and saddled Miami (12-4, 4-0 MAC) with early foul trouble, but the RedHawks used their depth to post an 84-69 victory Tuesday at the NIU Convocation Center.
